Featured: Style Me Pretty!

We haven’t blogged in…oh…forever…but it doesn’t mean that we haven’t been busy. FAR from it actually. I hate that Im not more on top of our blogging, but Im looking to change that soon with the help of a few interns that Im planning on working on this summer. So…don’t give up on me just yet! We post everything…EVERYTHING …first on our Facebook page (www.facebook.com/MelissaPepinPhotography or just look on the left hand side of the screen!) so definitely check their to stay in the loop if you head silence from us here. This year is shaping up to be one of my favorite yet. We’ve been woking on some really awesome weddings that are REALLY personal and emotional and just all around amazing for us. We’ve been around families and kids that make my heart happy. And Ive been working with businesses that are really excited to give their companies images a fresh look. Its been awesome..really really awesome.

Ive started submitting weddings this year for the first time in a while. I know its dumb to just STOP submitting things but honestly, with 2 babes and a family and being as busy with work as I already am, submitting weddings to be featured wasn’t a high priority on my list of things to MAKE SURE got done. BUT, this year I just decided that it was time. And Im so so glad that I did. Our first up for 2013 is with Style Me Pretty. Y’all…seriously its THE PLACE to go for all things wedding pretty. Our friends, Emily & Justin, got married last month and I was so excited to be a part of their day. When I saw how the whole day played out, I know I wanted everyone to see it! And I knew just the right place to send it. :) So… here’s the link to the post so PLEASE check it out and leave a little MPP love for them in the comments section! Im so happy that this year has brought so much love…inspiration…and FUN.

Diva & Amit: Proposal

I am  SO confused how this post was occupying my drafts folder…I could have sworn I posted it like..FOREVER ago. This was one of my favorite things ever and I could not have been more excited about shooting it!

After meeting with Diva and Amit about their engagement party, Amit called me and asked if I could be a part of his actual American proposal to Diva. Um…YES! I snuck off to Atlanta and met Amit and Diva’s beautiful sisters at the Glynn Hotel downtown, snuck up to the rooftop terrace and waiting impatiently for Diva to arrive. The moment was sweet and private and PERFECT! *Y’all know I get a little emotional some times so…of course I cried a little. :)

The cried and hugged and she said YES….and then they were surrounded by loving family and wisked off for a night on the town to celebrate. SUCH a fun time and we are so excited about their upcoming wedding in December! ….now I just have to convince them to take me to India…stay tuned. :)

Lindsay & Joe: Married

Happy Monday! I hope everyone had an amazing weekend and that your weeks have started off on the right foot. Its cold in Georgia right now..SO COLD! But despite the weather, we are already 2 weddings down for the year and amped up for another one this weekend. Our pattern seems to be 3-in-a-row- BREAK- three-in-a-row, repeat. I’ll take it…we are having a BLAST!

I wanted to share this wedding from the fall that I never had the chance to post now, before we get crazy again. This couple was so wonderful to be around and we felt like family members the whole day. Lindsay is hilarious…Joe ADORES her…and they could not be more perfect for one another. The warm afternoon in south Georgia made for the perfect wedding day. With everything from homemade jam to old fashioned glass bottle Cokes, this day was covered in southern charm and lots…LOTS of love. We were so blessed to be a part of the day. Here are just a few of our favorites! *p.s. I have NO idea how my upload got all scrambled so pardon the out-of-order-ness for me. :)

The Kim Family

There is something special about the relationship between a daddy and his daughter….and when a daddy gives his daughter a flower…and she insists on holding it the entire time you are taking her pictures…you go with it….and love every minute of it. :)

I work with Becky a LOT because she is one of the owners of the ever so amazing Gardenia Floral Design…but more important than our working relationship is the friendship we have built over these last, oh…say 7 or so years we have been working together. Ive loved seeing their sweet Elsa grow and I always look forward to doing their annual family session. I mean have you ever seen more perfect hair for twirling on a little girl?? Here are some of my favorites from their session!

The Wang Family

Oh goodness…where do I start with these people. Love seems like such a small word for the affections my family has for THIS family. :) Charlie and Deanna are two of the kindest people you might ever meet. Addison was my son Riley’s first baby crush. And their new little one, Lucas winked at me during his session…I mean really?! As if I didnt want to squeeze his cheeks enough already!?!

We “do” life with these folks and I was so happy to get to shoot their family with the new addition of their sweet boy. Its so fun to see your friends grow their families and Im even more excited that I will get to see these kids grow up with mine. Here are just a few of my favorites from their session!

Bailey & Maddie Shea

When their mom contacted me about shooting their senior sessions and I got information about these two girls…I knew I was in for a great afternoon! Maddie and Bailey are SO different…each with their own style and personality…but one thing they have in common is that they like to laugh a LOT and they photograph VERY well! We were all over downtown Athens for their session and mom and dad even snuck in at the end! This family is really fun together and I cant wait to see what college brings these two lovely ladies!

Baby Bates & Family

Oh this sweet family! I have known Lindsey forever and she and Scott make the most beautiful babies! I was so excited to get the chance to spend time with them at their house and see how they do life with 2 precious girls. Charli is so sweet to her new sister, Blakely and I know these two make their mom and dad very proud! Here are a few favorites from my time with them!

Baxter Family

Sarah Elizabeth was an intern of ours for a summer semester and I can tell you that we laughed a LOT that summer! When she contacted me about shooting a mini session for her family so that her mother wouldnt have to stress out about pictures for their family’s Christmas card…I KNEW I was in for a good time. This family is awesome and I cant wait to hang out with them again! Sarah Elizabeth’s sister, Mary, and her mother both ran the AthHalf Marathon that I did in October (oh yea…did I mention that…I RAN A HALF MARATHON in October! p.s. it was as awful as it sounds… :) Just kidding…it was awesome!) and it was fun to get to talk “running” to a few runners. Seriously, these folks are sweet and I had the best time with them. Here are just a few of my favorites from their session!

Baby Jack

Happy 2013 everyone! We’re starting the year off with a SLEW of posts from amazing sessions and weddings that we were super privileged to be a part of in 2012. So settle on in…there is a lot headed your way!

This sweet little puddin’ is baby Jack! My high school friend, Carol, and her husband (my college friend), Preston, have been blessed with this beautiful baby boy and I was SO excited when she contacted me about shooting his newborn pictures! Carol and Preston have hearts made out of pure gold and I cant think of a better couple to be this baby’s parents. Jack is going to be loved on so much that he wont be able to stand it and I hope Im there to photograph it all the way. Here are a few of our favorites!

Katie & Matt: Maternity

I was so so excited to be able to spend the evening with our sweet friends and help celebrate their little one…who is waiting to be more any time now! A lot of you may remember Katie as my wedding assistant. She worked with me for well over 3 years and we had the best time loving on our couples and eating lots of wedding cake. She and her husband Matt are near and dear to us and we cant wait to see them become parents…its going to be so much fun! Here are a few of our favorites from their maternity session!
