The Mays: Family (Charleston, SC)

This past weekend we went up to Charleston, SC to shoot family pictures and engagement session! I love that city and so does Anthony…so needless to say we had a great time! The best part of the whole deal was that we got to spend some much needed quality time with my sis-in-law and her crew. Margie feels like a sister. Like the REAL kind. Most of you know that Im an only child…and I have always wanted siblings that I could hang out with and laugh with and cry with…Margie is that kind of sister to me. All of Anthony’s siblings have taken me in as their own and I love when we get to spend one on one time with each of them. (*Tessa…if youre reading this I love YOU TOO…you’ll get your bum fluffed tomorrow when I post your engagement session. heheheh)

Margie and her hubs, Derek have the best kids. Seriously…the best. They are kind and sweet and just all around great children. Their lil miss, Sydney was Riley’s personal assistant all weekend so I didnt have to do ANYTHING! **I think I might adopt a 7 year old…it was a HUGE help. Kyle and Nick were wonderful older cousins to my little chubs too and we had a wonderful time catching up and spending time together. Whitley: 6 months

Hi everyone! Long time no post…I know. I get it. Things are rockin’ and rollin’ around here for the summer and we are in full edit mode! I have a lot to post so I wont fill you up with fluff and get right to the good stuff.

I cant believe Whitley is already 6 months old! She is growing so fast and has such a sweet personality already. Her mom and dad love her to pieces and its not hard to see why…here are some of our favorites from her session!

Shuman’s: Family

I hope everyone had an awesome weekend! So…the weather wasnt great here BUT we did get to hang out with a wonderful couple for their wedding! Lindsey & Andrew will be making an appearance on the blog in the next few weeks so be sure to check in for a few of their images. We had a blast and i love love LOVE when we can get in and dance with everyone at the reception…and did we dance! heheheh

Before I continue with your regularly scheduled post, I wanted to make sure to remind everyone that THIS MONTH’S charity is Thirst Relief. I profiled their charity a few weeks back and would LOVE if you would raise your wallets and donate with us. This organization works REALLY hard to get clean water to communities that need it in Africa. Their services are invaluable to the people they reach and with every donation made, more and more water is being given to people who literally could and will die without something we take for granted most of the time…water.

Now, on to todays post! I have known Kristy since..hmmmm….2004..?? She was the head teller at the bank I worked for in college. She was the first actual client I ever had. She was the 2nd model I ever shot. She is my longest client relationship and I feel REALLY REALLY lucky to have her in my life. I cant believe her little guy is now almost 4 years old. It blows my mind how time just slips away from you when kiddos come around!

When she called about setting up their yearly session with me she mentioned that her little guy loved trains and tracks and likes being crazy outside, so we hit up some local train tracks and let the boy go free. He ran, and jumped around, and walked all over a tree that had falled, and skipped, and threw rocks, and was LOUD, and did ALL that stuff that little boys do. Regardless of all the “grown up” little boy stuff he did…at the end of the session he wouldnt let go of him mama’s leg and wanted her to hold him…made my heart happy. Kristy and Ryan are always so much fun to work with and I cant wait to see what this next year will bring them. My fingers are still crossed in hopes that they will decide to have another baby! I’ll keep you updated…hahahaahh Here are a few of our favorites.

Taaaa daaaa!!!

Hey everyone! Just a quick note to let you know that our new website is finally done!!!! HOORAY! This thing has been a labor of love for..well..Im too embarrassed to tell you exactly how long BUT…for a while and we are so excited its up and ready to view. Thanks soooo much to Samantha at bludomain…she seriously helped me soooo much its not even funny. Thanks to our intern Hannah for being awesome and working on this site so much over the last few months…and thanks to my husband for looking at it a million and one times to make sure it was exactly what we wanted. Our old site will be converted into a new Portraits site and the new site is going to be used strictly for weddings and couples and brides (oh my!). Anywho…its still the same ole link so..take a look and we hope you guys love it as much as we do!

The Skogen’s: Family session!

Hey everyone! Meet the Skogen family, alllllllll the way from California for this session. Ok…so the session is not the ONLY reason they came to Athens but Im so glad that Kate contacted me about setting up a session for her family while they were in town for a surprise visit. *Side note: Kate is a crazy good graphic designer and she does amazing work so, check her out HERE!

What was supposed to be our fun, beautiful outing for some family pictures turned into a pretty cruddy day weather wise…so with a few changes in our plan we pressed through and I love love LOVE what we got. This family exudes love and care for each other…I promise you its contagious! And their little guy is a doll face! He made me want to run home and snuggle Riley right away. We had such a great time hanging out, swinging,and jumping through puddles. I cant wait to see what Kate does with these images!

Kate & Chris & baby A….thank you SO much for braving the craziness of Georgia weather with me! You guys are true rock stars and I cant wait to do it again. Give lots of kisses to your beautiful lil guy for me and tell him to keep eating those bananas.

The Lane’s: Family Session

Everyone, meet the Lane family! These guys were so much fun to work with! Dad is in the military and out on duty until the spring…BUT he happen to get a little leave time in January so we set up the session and had a blast getting to play with all of them for a while. Their daughter, Dianna is a little sass and although I did get some great snuggly pictures with mom…she has “daddy’s girl” written ALLLLL over her. I know Franchesca has missed her husband and that these kiddos have missed their daddy and Im so honored that they chose us to capture them together as a family. Playing catch up!

Happy New Year!!! This little break that we’ve had has been A-MAZING! We have had a lot of time as a family these last few weeks and Im a little sad that its time to get back to the daily grind. I absolutely LOVE my job…its the only job I would ever give up being a stay at home mom for…its the only job that has ever made me feel whole. Being a photographer and having this business is one of the best decisions I have ever made. BUT…some times my family and home life gets set to the side so that I can work and love on all of our awesome clients. All that to say that it has been really great getting to love on my family these last few weeks!

I have fallen behind something feirce on blogging and I promise to remedy that right now! Here is a post with a whole bunch of pictures from the last several weeks…Im sparing you all of all the commercial shoots/headshots we have done and just getting to the fabulous families, babies, couples, & hot mamas we have been working with. Sooo…lets let the blog rollin get under way!

Meet Pam & James~ these two were awesome! They got married this summer and wanted to get some fun pictures around one of there favorite spots in Athens, Speak Easy. Here are just a few pics from their session.

Meet the Burt’s & the Hall’s! I used to work with Julie and Kristy in college at a music store downtown. Yes…the are identical twins. Julie and her husband have a sweet little girl named Joie. Kristy and her hubs just had twin girls. Sooo…needless to say there is a LOT of estrogen in this family! heheeh These familes are so sweet and are genuinely amazing people. These love the Lord with everything in them and are such a fantastic example of support and love within a family. I remember when we were all younger Julie, Kristy, and I all thought the idea of having kids was OUT OF THE QUESTION! None of us really wanted to be mommies and now…here we are…all with kids…and all happier in our lives than we could have ever imagined. God is good. Here are a few from their session.

Lillian: Kid shoot!

Everyone, meet sweet Miss Lil! She is one of Riley’s good friends and we love her so much! I snuck over to Matt and Emily’s house one morning for a little bit to grab some new pictures of this sweet baby girl and she was all smiles. She is 3 weeks older than Riley and its so insane to see how she is growing up! She crawls …. EVERYWHERE…and she smiles and talks all the time. I cant believe its been over 8 months since she was born! Shes a doll baby I tell ya and I KNOW Santa is for sure coming to her house because she’s been wonderful all year. The Mann’s/Ashcraft’s: Family Portraits

Happy Tuesday everyone! I hope your Thanksgiving was awesome and that you all got in lots of family time this past week. I LOVE LOVE LOVE November and December because of the holidays and Im so excited this year because its Rileys first. We have already put up our tree and done a bunch of shopping/wrapping. The stockings are hung on the mantle and we are slowly getting ready to wrap up this year’s business stuff. I have a TON of sessions to blog (they are coming I promise!) and next week we shoot our last wedding of 2009 so, stay tuned this week for lots more.

This family feels like an extension of our own. Jessica was my college roommate…for 4 years of it at least.. And her mom and dad have taken Anthony (and now Riley) in with open arms and loved on us like their own kids. I have seen Jess’s sister, Erica, and her family grow…grow..and grow (”hadababyitsagirl!”) over the last 9 years and I cant tell you how much we love every single person in this bunch. Erica and her crew came out to visit and we drove out to Lake Oconee to grab some family pictures. The last time we did a session with them, they were one baby shy of a full house and now that their family is complete…we had to go back! The sun was AWESOME and I love love love all of the natural flare we got during the shoot… We love you Mann’s and Ashcraft’s and cant wait to visit again soon!
