Jessica: Maternity

This past weekend Anthony, Riley, and I headed to Wilmington, NC to see some of our best friends and to take some maternity pictures for our friends Jessica and Duane. We had a great time and it made me miss everyone sooooo much. Geeze, I mean…why cant ALL the people I love just come live near me??!! I dont think thats too much to ask. :) Okay…Im selfish…I get it. :)

I had all of these super fun ideas for Jessica’s session and couldnt wait to play with some direct sunlight and cool shadows…but low and behold good ole hurricane Bill came and busted up my plans! Sooooo, on to plan B. We shot inside one of my favorite places…Port City Community Church. This place is also super special for Jess and Duane because the new building has been a labor of love 1o years in the making. :) Duane and my bff Jessica Mann are on staff at PC3 so we were able to get inside, take cover from mean ole H.Bill, and shoot some pictures of my fabulously pregnant friend. Good times indeed!

Here are some of my favs…we started in the atrium area…

Their son Miles came along too. :)

He’s a little camera shy…

Then we were off to Grow Zone…Anthony and Riley lead the way! (p.s. I cant tell you how much I love my boys! )

Oh….and Miles has been taking gymnastics and its definitely paying off! Look at that flexibility!!!

This to me pretty much sums up life with little kids…(gulp)

On to the cafe…”hot mom check-in! What what!”:)

And finally…when Miles was born we wrote his name on Jess’s belly for her maternity session. This time she wanted that again but got a little help from the fam.

Jess and Duane…we cant wait to meet lil miss Iris!!!! We had the best time with you guys and we miss you a ton already… :( Oh….and we miss you a lot too Jessica Mann and Riley wants you to know he loves his lovey so much!!!

Morgan & DJ: Day After

Sometimes on your wedding day…you just run out of time! Thats what happened to this super fun couple when they got married in June! I always tell our couples to take a deep breath and a chance to look around you when you are at your reception because honestly the day FLIES by so fast that if you blink to hard, you’ll miss it! But not Morgan and DJ…these two decided on our day after session (which actually took place a few months after the actual wedding) so they could make sure to get pictures they may have not had time for on their actual day…and every girls wants an excuse to get back into her wedding dress right??!!

Although we didnt shoot their wedding…it was SOOOO much fun reliving parts of it at several fun locations. We started at the Taylor-Grady House and ended up at First Presbyterian downtown. The weather was perfect. The smiles were real. And the newlywed mushy stuff was in full force! heheheeh Have I mentioned before that I LOVE what I do??!!

DJ & Morgan, you guys (and your families) were soooo much fun to work with! Best of luck on your brand new marriage and when you guys have babies…make sure you call me!!! :)

Now onto the images…these are some of our favorites…starting with these WAY TOO CUTE flower girls… :)

About time…

Hi everyone! Happy Monday (okay…you west coasters may be getting this before midnight so…just go with it!)!! I promised I had some news for today so I figure that I will start with the most pressing…here ya go. *And because all good blog posts have a picture..I’ll rope you into reading all of this with a picture of one of our cocker spaniels, Sophie. :) hehhehe

1st: The studio

For those of you that do not know, we have been in our studio space for a little over a year now. It has been INCREDIBLE for so many reasons and we have loved it soooo much. It has provided a place for us to meet with clients. Its been a place that has FORCED me to separate my work from my home life. Its been a place to display albums and canvases full of images we are very proud of, all while giving us the opportunity to get to know our amazing landlords even better. HOWEVER, change is in the air! Last year when we opened the studio it gave us the opportunity to have something that was a tangible result of all our hard work from that last several years. But, while that was wonderful and I think necessary at the time, we are at a new place in our business and lives (with greater responsibilities…aka. having a growing business and a baby changes everything :)) and its time to move on.  We have decided to bring our office/studio back home. We are taking meetings at our current space through the end of the the month and after August 31st, we will no longer be at our Barber Street location. This leads to the next item on our agenda…

2nd: The Home

Since I just mentioned that our studio is going to be moving back into our home, the main question has been, ” Where are you going to put it??!!” Good question. :) We have prayed and thought and prayed and talked and have finally come to the decision that we are going to put our house on the market and buy a larger home. I hear its the PERFECT time to sell a house so… (okay, that was sarcasm!) Our house has been on the market for exactly 1 week now and we have already had a caravan of realtors & a family come look at our house and there is actually a family coming today too! So if you guys would, please be praying that someone sees our home and falls in love with it like we did! This was our first little home and we have so many memories here already, but there isnt a way for us to have our offices here AND have room to live. We have found a house that we LOVE that is just a mile from us now and our fingers are super crossed that its still on the market when our home sells. So, long story short…if you’re in the market for a one story, 3 bedroom, 2 bathroom cape cod with a GIANT fenced in back yard, a huge front porch, big back deck, hardwood, carpet, and tile floors, and 10ft ceilings with crown molding and pictures rail in the living room…call me! We will make sure to keep everyone updated so you know where to drop by once the new offices are set up! And no worries, we still have our office phone number so keep the calls coming! Now onto the next item…

Meghan & Brett: Married!!!

We shot Meghan and Bretts wedding several weeks ago and I completely forgot to post it!! Shesh! Their wedding was so incredibly sweet and we were so honored to be a part of it. Brett even wrote Meghan a letter before the ceremony that she read as we were starting pictures…it was little things like that that made their big day unique and full of romance :) From the AMAZING music to the “Go Dawgs!!!” run through, this was a  really fun day and we had such a blast being a part of it! OH! And yes…yes they did make a speedy getaway on a golf cart and it was too cute! Now to the goods…. :)

I hope you all have a wonderful weekend and come back asap…we are dropping some big news on everyone Monday! Woot! (oh gosh…let me make sure that by big news we do NOT mean we are pregnant again…hahaha Just wanted to clarify :) )
